We love crescent rolls in my house. Crescent rolls are just amazing right?? They come in a can, are fluffy and delicious and are ready in minutes. They are even better when they are stuffed with sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. My kids love this breakfast crescent rolls recipe.
My boys love these when I make it so much that they have requested that I make extra for the freezer so they can have these for breakfast any day of the week. These breakfast crescent rolls make hectic school mornings so much easier. I love that I can make a large batch and then freeze them and reheat them when you are ready to eat!
Since they’re all rolled up they are easy to grab and eat. It’s the perfect quick and easy breakfast.
Breakfast Crescent Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 4 extra large eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Dash salt (to taste)
- Dash pepper (to taste)
- 8 sausage links
- Sliced cheese (you can use shredded but this is what I had on hand when making these)
How to make breakfast crescent rolls
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat the tablespoon of butter in a pan (optional but add so much flavor to the eggs.) Whisk together the eggs and salt and pepper. Pour the eggs into the pan and scramble until completely cooked. A little underdone is OK since it will be cooked again in the rolls.
Cook the sausage in the oven or in a pan until fully cooked. Drain the sausage on a paper towel and let it cool.
Unroll the crescent dough and separate the triangles. I like to fold the sliced cheese so that they fit perfectly on the crescent dough triangles.
Place a tablespoon of the egg mixture
Place the sausage and roll up the triangle as you would a regular crescent roll. It might take a few tries to figure out how to get everything rolled perfectly but remember it doesn’t need to be perfect.
Place the roll on an ungreased baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly, serve and enjoy. If you are freezing them, let them cool completely before putting them in the freezer.
Recipe Variations
- You can stuff them with bacon instead of sausage or other kinds of cheese instead of cheddar.
- You can also skip the scrambled eggs if you want to and just do sausage/bacon and cheese.
- If you like it spicy you can add a little hot sauce after they are finished.
- You can also brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter for a little extra buttery flavor!
Have you tried this recipe in your house yet? I cannot wait to hear how your family loves it as much as we do!
